Trying to figure out where you did the work based on the shots of the trip the boat took to Great Salt Pond. I live at the top of Old Mountain Rd right next to Old Mountain Field. We built the boat shed in our back yard. We keep the boat in Dutch Harbor. If you are ever there, come by and say "...

Now you have me in a tight spot, there's nothing on the inside-yet. Give me a few weeks, the primary wire all shows up tomorrow and I have just a few things to install and connect. I have not finished the wiring diagram yet, it's taken me a little time to do what I have. http://i2.photobucket.com/al...

If you decide to remove everything to solve your problems, do yourself a big favor and draw up an entire wiring dia...

My only recommendation is to paint with the Interlux Perfection. I used this for the first time about a month ago and it is a huge improvment over the Interlux Interthane paint which I have used for years. Your working time is at least twice as long, you don't have to thin it as much and it really f...

Commanderpete,

Thanks for the link. I had someone else also give me this link because he purchases his wire from them and is very pleased. The price for 4/0 is 3.82/ft for tinned wire - Excellent prices!

Thanks again.

Battery cable sources?

I am in need of just a little bit of 4/0 tinned battery wire, like a couple of hundred feet. Anyone know of a good place to purchase this wire at a really good price? Any warnings of purchasing online? or any bad companies out there that anyone knows of? This stuff ain't cheap so any price saving is...

If your run a line from your pump to a level at the waterline, the pump will work fine till it stops, then the water will siphon back into the boat, fill it up till the pump turns on again and around and around you go till your battery dies then the boat sinks. If you run a line from your pump at or...

Or you could whittle a loosely-fitting hunk of wood to fill it in, and just goop it in there in one shot. If you're really ambitious, you could lay the cloth immediately and get it all done in one cure. This would be my recommendation. Very easy to do, uses less epoxy and is really the proper way t...

George, I have done this several times and my recommendation is to thin the paint thinner than you think. The thinner it is the less sagging you are going to get. It almost feels like you are applying water to your boat, it's so thin but the results are much better. I would also recommend at least o...

Figment, I have applied to the underside of the sole on my boat. It takes many coats 5-6 and you need to roll it for best results. 30 degrees is a lot a difference. I would check for interference before trying to adjust them. The problem is most likely not the compass but something else - portable radio nearby ( i.e. magnet as suggested by Tim), anything with a speaker in it will cause this.

The thinner evaporates rapidly and your paint i...
