Packing/Stuffing Box Hose
My son and I were going to repack the stuffing box on my 1967 Ericson 30 and realized the packing/stuffing box hose was badly deteriorated. The packing/stuffing box requires a 1 1/4 inch inside diameter hose. It appears that Buck Algonquin no longer makes this size hose, nor does anyone else I can l...

Painting the Hull
When repainting the hull do you paint the entire hull with primer or do you leave the area below the bootstripe for bottom paint only?

Protecting unfinished fiberglass
I am in the process recovering and fairing sections of a deck and cabintop that are severly crazed using polyester resin. Since I am working outside what is the best method to protect the unfinished work prior to the application of primer? Should I be priming as I go along? TIA.

Rubrail
I need some recommendations as to the types of wood to use for a new rubrail. Teak is prohibitively expensive. I was thinking of IPE or Mahogany? Any other thoughts?

Filling Seacock Holes
Would someone please give me an idea how to fill the holes left by the removal of the seacocks used for the head and sink drain? Is a simple plug of polyester resin sufficient?

Sizing Standing Rigging
I am going to be re-rigging two smaller sailboats, an O'Day Mariner and a Russell Vivacity. The Mariner was originally rigged with 1/8 inch wire and the Vivacity with 4mm. The 4mm is close to 5/32. Would anyone for see a problem with rigging them both with 5/32? This could be a substantial savings s...
