Thanks great info.
I found crew today so things are looking up. The decision now is to get this done ASAP or wait until spring. Maybe I'm getting old and cautious, but I'm leaning towards a spring trip.

Thanks The more I read the more I realize the trip is ruled by the current in the canal. Lot's commercial traffic doesnt sound all that fun, but who knows. Still not in the sailing yet. Two weeks vacation and some work travel basically killed 4 weekends. Life happens I guess. I'm very happy with Interlux Schooner varnish. Not my favorite thing in the world to do, but it sure looks nice after a few coats.

Re: Mast to deck wiring chase
Excellent thread, this is on my short list.
Is it recommend to pass the antenna wire in the same bundle? It seems the connector might be too large to pass though the deck fitting. Or, should you run the wire from the radio directly to the antenna with a removable connector?

I wish I could use a jigsaw for this! http://muvvachicken.com/images/cal25/beam_deck5_8_09/8_10_09/camera_12_29_08%20002s.jpg I thought of making it out of two pieces and laminating them together. Over the weekend I got the last section on the starboard side installed. This is the largest piece and was a little tough to install.
