Will it be a flat panel type of Lexan cover? If so go to any glass shop with the dimensions and they can cut one for you. Or have a few made, they don't look very clear forever. Or try Home depot, Lowes, etc,

The real problem with SS chainplates is where they pass through the deck, this is where corrosion sets in. They work well for external chainplates though. I would stick with Silicone Bronze when replacing. HEY!! What do I know???I'm just a kid!!!

It's a storage mount for the outboard when you leave the boat and don't want it stolen, look around and you'll find a pan to catch the dripped fluids. either that or it's a WALNUT CRACKER!!!!

Go to a reputable hose vender such as a place that makes up hydraulic hose,( check the yellow pages or on line) they will have the correct size you need. What you need is called: Suction Hose. You can use different hose but this type is easy to work with and very durable.

You'll do fine John, Do you know if you're using nonblushing Epoxy? If not you'll have an extra step between each lay-up ( not each layer but each series of patches you install after setup or curing has taken place) It will have to be carefully cleaned to remove amine blush, double check with manufa...

That old of Epoxy is nothing I would use, but that is only my opinion, That stuff ain't that expensive, if it something you're doing where failure is no big deal it's worth a try, beats throwing it away. But if you're trying to keep water out, or the rig up I wouldn't risk it. There are many differe...

For oil recommendations check in the engine manual. In 35 years of running diesels I have never used Shell Rotella oil. The ash content is too high, CAT recommends not to use Rotella and that's good enough for me.They do however say that if you do run Rotella change it more frequently. Detroit recom...

Re: Pearson Triton-Bluewater on a budget
I don't think the engine replacement will be as big a deal as you may think. it's actually a good time to jerk it out of there and rebuild or replace while the interior is out of the boat. With the engine out it makes it a lot easier to clean and replace thru hulls etc. in that area of the Triton. I...

Re: Pearson Triton-Bluewater on a budget
I like Tim's method of cleaning an oily mess, which should work for you. Pressure washer and blast away! With your drain holes now in the hull, this problem won't happen again. In the cost of refitting, if your engine is toast, a replacement isn't a huge setback. For the Triton , a outboard well and...

Re: Pearson Triton-Bluewater on a budget
Crazer, Look the simplest way to keep water from soaking the entire interior is to simply drill a hole in the hull below the sole, anywhere in the keel/bilge will work. Of all the steps in refitting one of these boats patching a 1/2" hole is the easiest thing. It sure saves a lot of repair from...

Well, Think about this, Is the owner paying a storage fee on the boat? If so, does he owe any storage fee now. Who will be responsible for that? It's very difficult to price someone else's property. $1000.00 could be a lot more than he wants for the boat. After 10 years of doing nothing he may just ...

As an amateur hobby restorer, I see no problem with your plan. I would however brace the cockpit sole with some type of structure to stiffen the area. You wouldn't want the tube to be a brace by itself. A bushing where it ( rudder shaft) enters the hull and at the top would be very helpful in removi...

Scott, before your team starts measuring and installing bulkheads and fixtures , place the deck on even if it's only temporary so the the hull isn't distorted when glassing in. You sure don't want to end up with a deck that doesn't fit.

The connect is generally used for semi trucks when they have a hydraulic lift tailgate on the trailer. Or a romantic recessed mood light !!!!!!
