Tip of the day:
BTW discovered by accident that PB Blaster will remove 5200 like a breeze. Works way better than any product I have purchased for said purpose.

Documenting a boat.
First off Happy New Year. I am planning to head south after hurricane season and stay out for awhile. I know some of you have documented your boats, how do I start the process, how much does it cost, how long will it take, does it make the customs process easier when clearing in?
Thanks,
Ang

Jacklines
Going to be going out by myself and need to rig some jackline. How have you guys set them up around the dodger/bimini frame. I am thinking two eyebolts on either side of the companionway and a line down each side so you could walk the windward side of either deck. Ideas?

I would suggest
cutting out all of the rot, putting another piece of marine grade ply into the spot where you cut out the soft wood pulling it all back together with some heavy biaxial cloth and then covering the entire piece with another piece of marine grade ply as a backer. Most importantly, make sure the leak i...

We were late enough our friends had started to get anxious and when we finally pulled up into South Creek they (6 folks from my neighborhood) were there to see us in, they were as proud of the old gal as I am---or at least close--- and happy to know we were here. It was all very SWEET! a grand day. ...

Hey Gang, Wind-Rose has the early model A4 with the manual fuel pump. I changed the cartridge fuel filter (an addition to the orginal system) and emptied and cleaned the sediment bowl. I turned the fuel cock back to the on position and started pumping to fill the system back up with gasoline. The fu...

Raw water strainer
Another dumb question..... I am putting a strainer on the thru hull for the raw water foot pump and deck wash. The strainer has fins on about 2/3 of it and is solid on a 1/3 of it, sort of bell shaped. It would seem to me the solid part would go forward to divert debris from the intake, however, the...

heading back from Annapolis a motorcycle cop had a fellow in a little Ford Fiesta pulled over because he had a big bimini frame he was HOLDING onto the top of his car.
I'm still laughing about it, so I had to share it. It obviously went on a power boat. HA!!!!

Windrose was badly crazed, I used 5 coats of the high build primer and it covered great for the first few years but now the crazing is showing thru again, not nearly as bad but noticeable.
