Tim,
What kind of wood have you used on that sea hood you're building?

deleting posts
In the classified topic, mention is made of users being able to delete their postings. I'm afraid I can't figure out how to do this.
I posted a Dickinson heater for sale and sold it, but now need help getting the ad to go away.
Suggestions? Thanks. Steve Scoll

Re: Water Inlet Through Hull
Either start taking it apart further up working toward the hull, where it will explain itself to you, or go with the "sawzall" solution. You might want those parts some day. That "basket" assembly is a very neat piece of work. Get some penetrating oil and larger wrenches. Steve

Re: Ericson 27 Project
I'd think you're correct with humidity. You obviously were careful of contamination. The work to this point shows careful planning and prep. The reason I mentioned fuel was that your containment looks to be tight fitting and Lp or other petro based fuels can "sweat" up a space without seem...

Re: Ericson 27 Project
What fuel do your heaters run on? Possibly this might be a source for slow curing.

Triton Coamings - EC
I'm not seeing anything specific to coaming removal/install in the topics discussed. Bill Bell made some good points in the MIR. Other references are regarding making and installing new replacements. Mine have wood plugs over the fasteners and before I start digging into them I'm curious what other ...

Re: Replacing the traveler
Tim,
I was looking at photos you posted that include the traveler you put on your Triton. Is that a stock item or did you fabricate it from parts? I've been thinking pretty much along the same line for my boat but haven't gotten to the point of actually acquiring the bits.
Thanks.

Re: Not plastic but....
What a lovely boat. Definitely, please post some more photos. Thanks Rachael for noting that the original photo site isn't functioning. I've been trying for about a half hour to get something other than ads from that site and just happened to scroll down to see your posting. Glad to note that my mad...

Re: Sudden end of Water Lift Muffler
This is certainly a cautionary tale. I've zero experience with marine mufflers. The large copper ring bologna thing in the port cockpit locker seems intact. Having read this thread I'm given to doubt its longevity and will be prompted to screw around with it. No doubt I'll ruin it in short order. Is...

constructing a mooring
Anybody have suggestions regarding best methods for putting in a mooring in fresh water? I've looked through the Forum topics and don't see any. Maybe I'm not entering the right key words.

Re: N. Srª. Da Conceição hull #195 saved my life yesterday
Antonio, Sounds like a day full of learning with some decent folks to help out. Those are wonderful days to look back on. If you happen to snag a line with the prop again I'll tell you what worked for me the one time its happened, so far. Restart your engine in neutral and bump the transmission in a...

Re: Solid fuel heater
Barry, Go look at Bellisima on the Great Dane 28 owners site. There's a good interior shot of an installation that may help. I also noted a Dickinson installation in a Triton that used up part of the headroom in the head in the MIR pages, don't remember which boat its on. By placing the heater low y...

Re: Triton Trailering
Thanks Yvon and Tim,
I went a little overboard with the tongue weight but it certainly followed me home without getting squirrely. Next year I'll try it a little further back. I think its probably a foot ahead of the center line.

Re: Triton Trailering
Thanks Tim. If the majority of the weight is forward of the mid point between the deadlights then I should be tongue heavy by putting it above the front axle. I hauled the boat home once several years ago and it was indeed squirrely. I've since beefed up the truck suspension so I'll move the boat fo...

Triton Trailering
I think Tim mentioned loading a Triton so that the space between the salon windows was just forward of the trailer balance point. In my case this would be close to directly above the front axle of my tandem. This is what I'm planning unless someone has a more specific suggestion or corroboration. I'...
