"Super dolly" has been most helpful. It rolls on four car dollies I had anyways. Add some 4x4's and some scrap 2x material and voila. The only thing I bought was 2 2x6x12's and some wire and a turn buckle which I strung diagonally to keep it square. All of it will find it's way into anothe...

Have a slightly older model Milwaukee... have had it for 16 years, and it has a LOT of hours on it. (Stripped all the trim on the second floor of a 100 year old home with it in the first two months I owned it...)

Yes I did a search, didn't find a dedicated thread. Is there a weapon of choice? What to look for? How much to spend at a minimum to rise above the "useless tool" level. Any help would be appreciated..... Oh yes, I'll be "aiming" it at a approximately 3/8 total thickness balsa co...

They are identical... the only difference between port and starboard is that the hardware is mounted on the outside rail of both. Yes, I have thought about using them as a "plug mould".... been dreaming about carbon fiber. It is a class boat, but the only one in it's class around here. Wou...

Do the scribbles on the hull in your photo indicate the approximate extent of the damage surrounding the pictured core sample, at least that you've been able to so far determine? Yes, and there's a few more area's like that. After further research and input from people like yourself I am now indeed...

Injectable delamination repair.....

I know this horse is beyond dead, and I apologize for bringing it up.... BUT, somewhere I remember reading about this procedure/product and I either didn't bookmark or can't find the bookmark.... :-( It was a product specifically designed to inject into areas of delamination. It drew out moisture an...

Read the two links. Very good stuff. Next steps is to get the floats inside (four years of building a shop paying off), grinding down the anti skid (sand in paint type) and putting a cutting bit on a dremmel with a router base and start cutting out the cracked areas. I don't want to reuse skins with...

The fourth in a series of boats named after my lovely bride is a 25 foot folding trimaran. Designed by Quorning in Denmark, it was built in 1990 by PC Mould in Canada. It is light, and has a relatively huge amount of sail on it. It is capable of speeds in the high teens (knots). It needs some tlc an...

Thanks, yes I suspected that this horse would be on life support. I did a search but still came up with a pile of non related stuff, even after attempting some Boolean qualifiers. Thanks again.

Greetings..and thin deck laminate.

Greetings, new to this forum. Not new to forums or fixing boats. The latest manifestation of my marine insanity is a folding tri, a 1990 Dragonfly 25. The picture is a sister ship of the non-folding variety: http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh117/oscarvanl/follow_me1.jpg The important pieces are t...

I tried soldering the ends and bending the hook, but you cannot bend the soldered end. I ended up soldering just an eighth of an inch at the end, to keep the strands together.
I work the wire into a hook, then solder it.
