I do agree with the issues on using a common ground, I might as well do it correctly. I appreciate the advice. With anything electrical, I've got lots of "book smart" but very little "smart smart" (said with a strong Maine accent).

Ryan,

Really? I was thinking I would avoid galvanic corrosion by replacing the bronze with stainless. I just figured I would put a drop of anti seize on the threads.

I'm certainly going to do more research then before I shell out the cash to replace 1/2 inch turnbuckles! Thanks..

I'm getting near the point where I need to put some sort of fairlead for a mooring pendant up at the bow. Rachel, Thanks for looking at the photos. I've wondered about those rearmost windows. Mine don't have that sloping back leg that I see in other alberg photos. Thanks for the tip on the methylene chloride softening fiberglass. I was unaware. I was only kidding about adding it to primer, however after about 4 hours of holding a sander over my head yesterday the thought of that big beautiful can of Super Stip in the barn entered my mind more than once. -jeff

Perhaps woven roving. I just googled images of woven roving and what i've got looks like super fat roving. Big strands, as if the fabric was woven from big chords of fiberglass. The craters are pretty deep between the fibers.

Does TSP actually soften a finish? I thought it was just a strong cleaner to remove surface contamination. The flap wheel might work. Wire brush even. I'm sick of sanding. Turns out tabbing is ok. Mostly just the edges had lifted with the rest ok. I snapped off a few small chunks that I expect will not have any effect on overall strength. I'll just fill in the gaps before I prime.
