I'm launching at the end of the week so I think what I'll do is extend the spreader bar by building a mold onto the end of each spreader, then pour some epoxy thickened with some colloidal silica. Once cured, I'll sand shape to fit the bracket. I wish I were better at molding epoxy. I great solution...

Basic Rigging Question

I found a crack in one of my cast aluminum spreader brackets so I had a new pair machined out of 7075 aluminum. The new ones are cut to fit the oak spreader bars in the same basic shape as the old brackets, except they are thicker and should be much stronger. One nagging issue is that the spreader b...

I've got a friend that uses Jocylins every year, and he is very fussy about his boat, a beautiful Friendship Sloop. I called them, and they quoted very high. I'm wondering if I'm just a little too far out of where they normally work.

This flaking layer is just on the rudder, the hull is fine..apart from the many tiny little blisters. Yes that red goo is dissolved VC17 that dripped. We've removed most of the VC17 on the rudder, but the layer that's flaking is white, brittle and 1 to 2 ml thick.
