Diaphram type bilge pump

Post by Ryan »

I have decided to use a diaphragm type bilge pump on my boat in an attempt to be able to pump the bilge as dry as possible. Does anyone have any favorite brands, or brands to stay away from? Any reasons (other than cost) to not go this route? I plan to use a high volume impeller pump mounted a couple of inches higher than the diaphragm pump on an automatic float switch to handle any major water (which I hope never happens!). Thanks!

This is the premium way to go, and I recommend the installation.

As to pump types, I usually favor Jabsco, though not because of any particular personal negative experience with other brands.

Thanks Tim. I have been eyeing the Jabsco, though like you, I have no reason to ignore any other brands.
