water pump rebuild

Post by lowufo »

After long hours trying to determine the real block my westerbeke 21 was derived from , I gave up .I needed a new water pump for it . the best price I got was $ 372 plus shipping. I could not bring myself to spending this kind of $ on a stupid water pump !! Then it dawned on me ............what about rebuilding what I have ?? after rebuilt pumps, starters etc. are all available for auto use. to make a long story short.... sent mine out to the "water pump man" near detoit. for $79.00 plus shipping I got a rebuild ,looking and running like new !!total @ $100.00 .that almost 300 bones for something else the boat needs
just thought I would let you guys know of other less costly solutions for similar issues.
