Scrapped the exhaust system...

Anything goes, as long as it falls under the general forum protocol and rules.

Scrapped the exhaust system...

Post by Zach »

Wow.

The jacketed exhaust weighed in at 37 pounds... scrap price per pound was 2.35. This is probably the first and last time I'll ever get 86 dollars for a cut up exhaust system!

It might be a good time to convert to water lift!

Glad to hear there's a ray of sunshine coming from the obscene price of copper (and most metals, including steel).

Lead is fetching nice prices as well.

Now if Brian REALLY wants to put his boat on a diet...

Speaking of lead... any of you guys know how to get the lead out of a car battery safely?

I've got six or seven around here that have dead cells...

No, I will keep the lead for time being - but man oh man my last sail of the season was super fast. I was really surprised - weight really does make a huge difference. I was actually thinking of getting another Triton and really, really going to town on it. No - I am not going to do that either - I would rather just sail the one I have with that 'extra time'.
