Sad really. This looks like a pretty boat too. If this happened in MA there would have been many scheming to take ownership soon after the fact.

Here's the story...

Allen,

That looks familiar. Was it by chance off of Lahaina?

Edit: I just noticed we were talking about the same boat. But take a look at the last link, THAT is the sad part.

This was about a month ago or so up in Milwaukee. The boat is a Chinook 34 if you can believe it.

Wow ! Can we get one of those time lapse video cameras set up at Northern Yacht Restorations? !!! That was cool except that it is sad that they didn't feel it was worth sledding the boat out.

Yes, the picture was taken from the upstairs window of the Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant 811 Front St, Lahaina last January.

I called my brother in Milwaukee the other day and remembered to ask him about the boat grounded on the lakeshore. " Oh, you heard about that?" he asked. The report is that amidst much hoopla they had cut it into three pieces, loaded the pieces onto a truck and it is now a very sad memory.
There but for the grace of God go I.
