This blows my mind. A lovely creative solution to a problem that doesn't really exist. Any boat too big to fit under that bridge is big enough to go around outside.

Too big with a ketch rig! Good thing he didn't order the sloop, or he'd REALLY have no choice but to go out where the waves spill the martinis.

I saw this somewhere else, and I don't remember what it was, however the guy actually had a logical reason for doing this...something like trying to get out of the way of a hurricane.

Oh yea, I remember now. Still can't remember where the info came from, maybe trailersailors.com, but the guy did this to escape shallow water before a hurricane- Andrew, perhaps. It was so successful the guy and his family decided to explore some of the close areas of the ICW they weren't able to get to a couple years before due to their rig height. Not to say "I'd" advise it, but it works for them...
