In retrospect, would it not have been easier to simply build a new boat?
Next time maybe...
In retrospect...

It was just a thought last night as I was re-reading the Pardey's Cruising in Seraffyn
Lin kept a strict account of time spent building the boat and the material costs. (I believe she has a degree in accounting).
It turns out that material costs were about $35-40k in today's dollars and they had around 4000 hours into the project. I realize their boat was on the simple end systems-wise but that still sounds too close to my reckoning to think I got a good deal. :-) I have no idea how many hours I have spent on the boat project but it is getting up there. That's 100 full time weeks. So maybe I have half that into a boat that isn't finished yet.
Now whether I would want a new and different boat is a question. I don't really think so but the idea is intriguing.
A cold molded Triton-like hull would be nice. Maybe a few extra feet longer, maybe a bit more volume...
