exhaust pipe replacement

Post by pleaides »

As the pipe between the manifold and muffler of my A-4 has totally disintegrated I am not sure what is the best replacement material. Exhaust hose (supposedly heat resistant) has been recommended by some, but other readings are leaning toward copper or black pipe. Can anyone add some recommendations?

You can only use hose for the section downstream of the water injection point. Anything upstream (pre-water injection) needs to be metal. Black iron pipe is a commonly used material for this application.
