New Triton owner (can't resist showing off)
Hi guys, I just bought Triton #268 out in Mattapoisett MA. She's cosmetically not so great, but she's the most structurally sound Triton I've seen. Decks were recored, rig is in good shape, the compression system (beam and posts) is in outstanding condition considering her age. Electrical is a disaster (it works, but wires are hanging out all over) but I'm ready for it. Lots of work to be done, lots of sailing to be done too. She's on the hard right now, but we'll be launching her in a bit less than a month. Alas, exterior paint has to wait since we're on a tight budget for the moment. She still has her Atomic 4 (hooray!) and it turns over. Haven't got it running yet, but apparently it does that too. I'm very excited, and very happy with her. Can't wait to get started and can't wait to get sailing! The plan is to take her down to the Chesapeake and tinker around until we're ready for an extended cruise. Plan is to go to the Bahamas, maybe beyond. Photos to follow.

Welcome and congrats!
But doesn't showing off require photos? ;)
(Unless there are some and I just can't see them?)

Very nice, she has an A4 alright but that is a much newer engine than an early 60's model, so it has been replaced, may be a great piece.

Oopsie, guess I missed that in all the excitement. Fun to see the photos - thanks for posting them.Crazer wrote:Photos to follow.

she looks much nicer below decks than my old girl did - less mold, less soot. enjoy the journey.

Gotta love those old Pearsons.
I say this as the owner of a 1968 Pearson Wanderer.
If you haven't already, I suggest you sign up over at the Moyer Marine Atomic 4 forum.
Great resource for us owners of old A4s.

Looks like a lot of the original parts are well preserved. Good find!

Congratulations. You've chosen well. What was her previous name and who owned her?

Hi Steve, she was last named Barjosa and was owned by Cory Mason who sold her to me. Prior to that she was owned by one Marvin Winkler, under the same name. I have the list owners all the way back to the beginning.
Thanks for the congrats/welcomes guys! :)
