We made a trip to Newfoundland in 2003, and Tony was quite helpful in our planning. Here is the weblog for our trip: http://sailing.thorpeallen.net/Newfoundland2003/

That was quite the trip. By the look of your chart you were offshore until you reached St. Pierre. That is a long time offshore in this area of the ocean. By the looks of things, you guys had a ball. I would like to visit the south coast someday but the east coast is my stomping grounds, and I only just begun to discover it by sea. I hope you got "Screeched In"

Ronbye,
One of the goals of the trip was to make an "offshore passage" so we went from Portsmouth to St. Pierre non-stop. My only regret was that we never got off the continental shelf :-)
I would love to go back to the south coast sometime, though a little later in the season when it might not be so foggy. On our sail from Grand Banks to Francois, we just saw fjord after fjord lined up along the coast beckoning for us to enter and explore.
Regards,
Tim
