Summer 06?
Well, Tim has already bagged out on a summer cruise this year. Bum. Britton seems unlikely to have his boat reassembled. Slug.
So who'll be sharing my rum and homemade cheese this summer?

You can invite Britton along, feed him plenty of your cheese, and save him the trouble of redoing his head this year...dasein668 wrote:Britton seems unlikely to have his boat reassembled...

If you follow this plan, please warn me if and when you enter Blue Hill Bay so I'll know to keep the kids out of the water...MikeD wrote:You can invite Britton along, feed him plenty of your cheese, and save him the trouble of redoing his head this year...

Altogether too many head jokes with my name attached...
My Triton will be out but I am always open to crew positions and if I get desperate I might dust off a copy of the Maine Island Trail guide and do some camp cruising in the dory (if I get it put back together) or my great-grandfather's crooked, smashed up, aluminum skiff.
I would travel far for Rum and homemade cheese.

Ah yes. I nearly forgot that you were an Outward Bound instructor. Depending on the plan for a summer cruise, crew positions may be open for a portion, though I don't think I'd want to have one or more extra bodies on board while Heather and Gavin are with me!

Much as I like Heather and Gavin, I wouldn't want to be on board then either! Tritons are NOT meant for crowds, that's for sure.dasein668 wrote:I don't think I'd want to have one or more extra bodies on board while Heather and Gavin are with me!

If all goes according to plan, GREYHAWK should be arriving off the Cuckolds around July 2 having made her way up from Chesapeake Bay over the previous week via the C&D and Cape Cod Canals. She'll be based out Townsend Gut and/or West Boothbay Harbor for most of the rest of the summer.
(As for crowds, 34' GREYHAWK has berths for 7 or 8 close friends!)
Regards,

Hi Ric,
The yacht club I belong to is about as close to Richmond as you can get and has just announced its cruise schedule for the upcoming year. The web site is at yryc.org The club is located at York River Yacht Haven in Gloucester Point, VA. That's right across the water from Yorktown near the Coleman bridge.
Lots of opportunity to meet up with some people on the lower bay. Solid group of sailors with a pretty big Wednesday night racing program too.

Not sure about my own timing for a summer cruise?usually more toward August. If you decide to stop by Falmouth on your way up, let me know.catamount wrote:If all goes according to plan, GREYHAWK should be arriving off the Cuckolds around July 2 having made her way up from Chesapeake Bay over the previous week via the C&D and Cape Cod Canals. I am going to head to yorktown this summer. That new dock/ marina complex looks great!!
I am up at Yankee Point Sailing Marina on the north side of the Rappahanock.
Not a bad sail to Yorktown...but not a quick jaunt either.
Lots of great places to wander to in the southern bay with about 1/20 the boats of annapolis area.
We may have to coordinate something for the Plastic Classic Chessie Cruise later this year.
