We can't beat inner Blue Hill Harbor for a few days. For several years now, on the winds invitation, we've reached up the bay and anchored for a coulple of days of swimming and shoreside exploration.
Then there's Isle Au Haut, a place we try to get to every few years.(This is an enormous coast and impossible to cover in a season, or two, or three...)
And there's always Somes Sound, a place you can easily sail and explore for a few days. This shot of Christmas from the cliffs of Valley Cove.
Northeast Harbor. A good place to explore and hike. My favorite thing to do is watch the people. From pompous blue bloods to racous bikers, I like to sit and watch it all go by. Sailors are easy to spot, they're disheveled and alittle edgy like this family out of Rockport :>
All in all, looking back on a season on the coast of Maine, it's the sailing inbetween that was the most memorable.
Some warm memories of this past season on Maine coast.

Wow...I sure did miss cruising this year. It's funny how I didn't actively miss it (being so busy with the house that I hardly had time to think), but how much I realize I did miss it when I see photos like yours.
I can't wait for next season! I'm planning a month-long cruise.

I keep thinking of this thread and these pictures as I'm getting closer to doing some family cruises myself. Great pics!
Tom, what kind of dog is that?
