Bending genoa T tracks
Bending genoa T tracks
I need to replace a section of 1.25inch aluminum T-track that is curved to conform to the deck edge. How easy is it to bend T-track of this size? Any tips?

It's easy. Start by fastening one end securely, then bend a little and add about every 3rd or 4th fastener as you go. The track takes most typical curves with ease using this method.

Really? Just spring it? I see myself being flung off the ladder as I tried to hold the track to a bend as I tried to drill the boltholes...pwuuunnng!

When I was installing my rub rail i fabricated a U shaped jig and some wedges to hold it in place while I drilled and screwed. On a few occasions it would spring loose and wack me in the chest. Never knocked me off the staging but it left some impressive bruises.Really? Just spring it? I see myself being flung off the ladder as I tried to hold the track to a bend as I tried to drill the boltholes...pwuuunnng!

The aluminum is easier to install than stainless track!
