Hi All,
I saw the discussion of Awlgrip's "Stars and Stripes" blue and noticed that the boat that was hauled immediatly prior to mine on Wednesday was that color. Getting a chance to see it up close has pretty much convinced me to switch out the Flag Blue I have for the Stars and Stripes blue when I paint "Delphinus" later this year. It's somewhat unique and would probably be a little cooler hown here in the south. Here's a picture of the boat I was looking at...

Hi Tim,
Here's a side view if it will help with your identification...
Actually the paint job appears to be the best thing about the boat. I get the feeling that it was just done earlier in the year. It was pretty much perfect from what I could see. That stern photo even looks just like the current Awlgrip ads which show off the miror quality of a good Awlgrip job. The ads that end with "It's gotta be Awlgrip".

Why, it's a Seabreeze. (Hence the "catchy" name...)
I knew that transom looked familiar.

The stinkpot crowd has officially taken this ball and ran with it.
I lost track of exactly how many powerboats at the boston boat show had S&Sblue hulls, but it was at least a dozen. Some looked positively ridiculous, I thought, but others wore it well.
If that show was any indication, this color won't be a 'novelty' for long.

Hi Figment,
I just noticed your post about the powerboat crowd. The local yacht brokerage is a Mainship dealer and fully 33% of all the new Mainships I've seen show up at the docks are in S&S blue. I haven't seen any sailbioats in that color but time will tell.

We close on her around May 15th! She's a Canadian Sailcraft or CS-36 and was painted with Awlgrip over the winter! I guess I'll have to be the guy to put the first scratch in her. Better me than someone else though. I think I like the green bottom paint better though...

Hey look, someone taped the "For Sale" sign to the bottom instead of the topsides. Good thing, too, with that gorgeous paint job.
Congratulations on the new boat! Wheeeee :-)

I think you'll like the black bottom paint with the S&S Blue. The S&S Blue has a jet black component to it that goes well with a black bottom. Same tonal feel to it I guess.

There's a 1960's Hinkley in the marina that the yard has just completely refit including a new paint job, it's a blue but not quite tis blue, I'll grab a pic next time I am down there - looks very nice.
also there is a Shannon 46 being commission right now - beautiful looking boat but it seems to have transulcent star-board type materials atop some of the hatches - looks odd, I'll get pics of this too.
