LK IV Progress update.

Post by Oscar »

Plugs are back in the deck, and decks sanded down. I have decided NOT to put a foam layer on the deck as discussed elsewhere. I am still riveting the joint, but will be using solid aircraft rivets. Over the deck and the joint to the topsides will go a biaxial/mat stitched combo. BEAUTIFUL stuff, about 25 ounces/yard. Test pieces are most promising. This time around I am not ready for vacuum, but I can roll heavy plastic down the entire length and put loose sand on it.....then a few strips of wood and spring clamps around the flange, should work.

Have started working on the trailer solution. I think this is where the twins will ride..... 8'6" at the fenders, 8' above.

Out there, alone, there is only truth.

Nice work! She's looking good, and it won't be long now 'till you're sailing. I am, of course, envious of everyone who will launch this year, but have only myself to blame.

Congrats, and keep keeping us posted!

Cheers,

Chris
