Pearson Commander #26 projects

Post by cantstopnow »

I will start by saying that I really didn't need another project boat. I need to get more experience sailing. So .. I bought this great Pearson Commander in an excellent location for sailing. I mention this because any work that I do to the boat, or do not do, is focused on getting some sailing in this season.

There are some issues needing attention like the hand rails and associated leaks in the cabin roof.

It was recommended that I remove the thru hulls and the head. Casco Bay is a no discharge area and it will be one less thing to maintain so I did.

I removed the handrails because they were cracked and broken and the fasteners were loose or snapped. some water appears to have leaked into the core in a couple of places.

I drilled the holes out and cleaned out as much wet core as I could and then filled with thickened epoxy.
