Volvo MD6A Exhaust riser-HELP

I think I need one of these. It appears from the Volvo website that parts for the MD6A (ended production 1975) are no longer available from Volvo. Tomorrow I'm going to try the local Volvo marine dealers to see if they have any NOS.

On my previous boat, I fabricated an injection elbow from heavy wall SS pipe. Can anyone see any reason why that would not work on the Volvo?

Also, is there any reason not to use stainless bolts for the manifold flange? They thread into the cast iron exhaust manifold.

Should I just chuck the whole thing and buy a Beta? :>)

I built a new one for my Yanmar out of black pipe and brass pipe. Stainless would be nice. Here is a picture (pre-welding)
