I'm new here so here goes. I've owned Triton # 329 for a little over a year now. I sail out of Alameda Marina in the estuary and into San Francisco bay.
Have done lots of impovements/changes. This forum has been a great asset as most of what I have done has been guided but what you guys have done and posted here. So thanks for all you have done already. I have lots of pics here if anyone is interested. http://web.mac.com/mccartyj/iWeb/Site%2015/Triton.html
My question pertains to building a jib boom. If any one could direct me to a supplier for boom to deck hardware and plans/measurements for boom and rigging I would really appreciate it. I'm sure it's been done already and don't want to reinvent the wheel. I've seached this forum and everywhere else and can't find anything.
thanks
Jim
P.S. If I posted in the wrong area let me know and I will repost

Well, if you just want to throw your checkbook at it you could get a Hoyt unit from Mauri Pro. I'm told they work well on an Alieron 28.
Offhand, I don't know of anyone who makes the old-style hardware bits (you provide the stick) anymore. Toplicht might have something, if you can sift through the german.

Thanks for the welcome. As far as jib size goes I guess I would go with as large as could be handled by a jib boom setup. Probably 90ish %. I've never done it before so I'm kinda shooting in the dark. I have a new main and 2 jibs on order with Doyle so I'm hoping to get some feedback from them the next time I meet with them. I have considered the Hoyt Jib Boom but the one I looked at (Alerion 28) had a lot of under the deck complicated looking components. I don't think I want to get that committed. And I wouldn't want to be stuck with a boom all the time.Robert The Gray wrote:Welcome to the forum Jim,
Looks like a nice boat. Do you have a jib size in mind?

I saw a guy in the Berkely Marina with oars like yours. Could that have been you? Are you without engine?
