Morse (I think) control

Post by KrabKrusher »

My Vega has a side mounted engine control, with the throttle and shift in separate levers. The levers are superimposed on each other - the shaft for one goes through the shaft for the other.

Last year the shift lever suddenly went stiff and on disassembly I found some worn parts - plastic bushings, and I think a retainer ring is bent. I am trying to get parts and a manual. I think it is a Morse control but erhe is no name I can see . . .. Morse is now Teleflex or something. Any suggestions?

Give Teleflex Canada a call, and ask for Mike Grey.

It may take a few weeks before your call and email get to the front of the que, but he and his team are the best folks to deal with at teleflex for odd ball questions related to ancient products.

There is an updated replacement available for several hundreds of dollars.Nice, but it does not have the removable handles.

I had no luck finding parts for mine, which had the same issues as yours. I did find a used unit thru Cruisers forum, and I may not need it now. I'm considering cutting up the boat for parts. I also have a very clean, excellent running takeout Atomic 4 for sale. Both items are in Richmond,VA.
