I'm in need of a wrench to tighten a notched ring on my transmission coupling:
See:
I'm calling it a spanner wrench, and I'd like to find one locally so I can get it quick. I've found them online
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... 1&v=glance , but would ratehr not wait, and no one offers overnight shipping.
So far I've called a plumbing supply and auto parts store with no luck. Is there a different name for these? What industry might they be used?
Any adeas appreciated. I may just give the ring a few whacks with a hammer and an oak block in the notches if I can't get one quick.

Re: Looking for a Spanner Wrench
I don't know what stores are local to you, but have you checked just using "hook" and "wrench" or just "hook" and "spanner" as search terms? I see quite a few that way; maybe there will be one near you.
Even though I do see that many places call them spanner wrenches, I think that might be a bit redundant. I say that because in the UK "spanner" is wrench. (But there may be a reason I don't know that they are using both terms.)

Thanks Rachel,
Hook wrench turned up way more search results. I'll look for one that can ship quick.

I have been pretty happy in the past with how quickly McMaster Carr ships.

Re: Looking for a Spanner Wrench
Bill,
Great suggestion! I was looking everywhere, most places had a lead time of 4 to 5 days, not actually in stock ect. I called McMaster, they had it in stock and regular UPS ground should get here tomorrow, certainly by friday. Thay had about the best price too.
I should be motering again by the weekend!
