Not only is it a beautiful boat, but it's a rather significant one in terms of its lineage, which makes that chunk-o-plank boomkin an absolute travesty. That's the very first "upgrade" I'd undo!

I found myself staring at the picture of what appears to be the mainsheet ratchet block attached to a pad-eye next to an empty traveller. It didn't seem sturdy enough or functional for a boat that size. Having a chuck-o-plank bowsprit, that is very functional, if not shapely, I'd wait and see if the boomkin didn't grow on me. It could be a lot worse!
