aluminum with brass
The new diesel tank has aluminum fittings, but most available hose barbs are brass. Aluminum and brass look to be very close on the nobility scale. Does anyone see a problem with using them together?

Couldn't be worse. Use stainless. Or fittings made for that purpose.
Well, it could be worse, copper and aluminum.

The exhaust manifold on my Pisces 27 is aluminum with bronze fittings. The corrosion isn't particularly bad after 30 years.

It turns out Moeller has aluminum hose barbs and West Marine has a catalog number for what I need. I'll stay with similar metals.
