I just installed a new Whale Gusher foot pump for my galley sink. I also purchased a Glacier Bay under sink home water filter to install after the foot pump. These take the standard cylindrical 10 inch long filters. I have read that the foot pump has difficulty pumping water through some of these filter elements due to either the carbon block or the small micron size of the filter element. Are there any filter specifications that will work with these foot pumps and not hinder the flow of water?
Thanks

Re: Undersink water filter
I haven't tried the paper filters that come with the filter holder so not sure how they work with the foot pump. I always toss them out and used the charcoal filters as described around the 9:00 mark in the following video:

They work fine but the threads on the holder tend to leak if you don't tighten them down very hard. Maybe some thread lubricant would help them seal easier?
