Fairing on top of applied bottom paint (Baltoplate)

I have the boat in the yard for a new bottom. The bottom work involved some blister repair. Yesterday, they applied two coats of Baltoplate. When I stopped by the boat today, there were quite a few pinholes over the repaired blisters. They plan to simply refair on top of the applied Baltoplate and s...

Go with the electric knife. If you use a regular knife, you'll get a very ragged edge as you saw through the foam.

Most fabric stores that sell foam use an electric knife as well.

Welcome Lloyd!

The Bristol 27 is quite a boat. It looks like yours came from Louisiana - where did you buy her from? Are you keeping her on the MS. Gulf Coast?

I look forward to hearing more about the boat and, of course, seeing more photos.

Checking Sheaves

The yard my boat is in wants to pull the rig to replace the halyards. Umm, I don't think so. The existing set up is wire-to-rope halyards. I will be switching to all rope. So, how do I know if my existing sheaves will accomodate all rope halyards? Will it be fairly obvious just by looking at them? I...

However, ten minutes of research shows that the motor in my boat is clearly the 2QM15. That motor was built through 1980 and was replaced by the 2GM. One of the g...

J-30s are what they are, and they serve their intended purpose very well.
