Recore From the Outside - Finish of Bleeder holes.

Post by Triton 185 »

This question is to those of you that have re-cored from the outside and re-used the outside skins. Are the outside skin bleeder holes glassed over or just filled with epoxy. If they are only epoxy filled, is there an issue with cracking or telegraphing over time with heavy use? Thanks!

When you say bleeder holes, I assume you mean small holes that will allow excess resin to escape?

If so, then you can simply fill and fair them with epoxy.

I haven't experienced any issues with epoxy-filled bleeder holes in the top skin.

Hi Tim,

Do you recall what diameter of hole you drilled in your top skins? I was looking at your site and I didn't catch what size they are.
