Stuck in Islesford...
Well, it's foggy, and thundery, and rainy, and windy, and just plain nasty here at Islesford on Little Cranberry Island...
Which means y'all get a few preview pics from the cruise so far. Just because I'm bored and have internet access from the boat today.
Without further ado:
Clearing Fog, Harmon Harbor
HIOBS Pulling Boat, Mussel Ridge Channel
Glissando Reaching Across Penobscot Bay
Tim Enjoying Good Food Aboard Dasein
Gavin Helping Beat Our Way Down Eggemoggin Reach
Bagpipes In The Fog, Wooden Boat
Gavin Looking For Fish, Hell's Half Acre
Heather Helming Across Jericho Bay: Toggle Dodging
Jordon Pond And Beyond, Summit of Pemetic Mountain
Sunset, Somesville
Clearing Storm, Somesville
Heather: Lobster Cook Extraordinaire
Sunset Over Mount Desert and Southwest Harbor, From Islesford
That's it for now. Enjoy.

I would love to have heard those bagpipes in the fog.

I aim to please. Unfortunately, he had to pause to adjust something right when I started filming this little clip, but you get the idea, at least.Rachel wrote:I would love to have heard those bagpipes in the fog.
Tim: This is the boat I was talking about, from Rockland. He built it himself.

sigh...
Boy do I miss MDI. (Many, many, many summers and a stint in the NPS for a year or so.)
The Pacific NW is stunning. Lots of islands and big mountains.
And great sailing, but I definitely have a soft spot in my heart (head) for Mount Desert.
Thanks for the pics!
P.S.
Did you get any popovers?
:-)

I applaud his decision to stop 3/4 of the way through the build and go cruising/piping. There's a man who has his priorities straight!dasein668 wrote: Tim: This is the boat I was talking about, from Rockland. He built it himself.
