Rebedding and Non-Skid

Post by mobilchuckje »

Hi,

I have a few pieces of deck hardware that go back on the non-skid areas, either entirely or partially.

What's the proper way to prepare the surface for rebedding?

Thanks.
chuck.

Just solvent wash it. The textured surface is fine for sealant (actually, a good thing).

Clean is the key, textured surfaces are not an issue.

I agree with the above, just make sure you use enough sealant to fill in the texture. Also if the deck is cored overdrill and pot the holes with epoxy before final drilling if it hasn't already been done to prevent water intrusion.

Thanks. That's easy enough. The deck is solid so not potting necessary, but I will bevel the holes with a countersink bit.

Cheers, thanks
chuck.
