Anybody have a guess on where the center balance of a bristol 27 or more specifically where it should be on a trailer in relation to the axles?
I read a bunch of posts on the tritons and the keels are very similar, but not sure i would trust that.
If i could come up with where to put the boats fixed ports in relationship to the axles i could at least figure out how much forward clearance i need to help with trailer size.
Thanks a bunch
josh

Here's a picture-
another ad -http://orlando.craigslist.org/boa/1831788205.html you might get an idea emailing them..
Between the large ports, seems to be close to center.

Re: center of weight on b-27 or where to put it on the trailer
Thanks chuck!
That looks right as well but its nice to have it confirmed. Can anybody give me a measurement from the center of the back port to the tip of the bow?
What affect would it have to have the bow hang over the truck bed if it can clear? I think on a gooseneck it would be ok yes?
How bout on a car hauler?
My options seem to be much limited as ive had two trailers fall through and renting in this size is limited that i can find so am looking for alternatives atleast to get it back here to iowa while i work out a permanent trailer.
The cradle is 5 x 10 and i think on a car hauler with the upsweep of the bow it will clear the bed on a bumper pull type trailer but am trying to stay clear of that if i have a better alternative
May have to postpone the trip on thursday tho if i cant work something out.
anybody know where i can rent a flatbed gooseneck in this size in iowa or illinois? im striking out looking online.

Josh,
I'm going to my boat tomorrow. I'll try and get a measurement of the B27 in the lot. If you blow up the picture and measure it; it comes to 17' 6".
I'm also looking around for a trailer for my cheoy Lee 31. I may just build one, and sell it later after I move the boat.

On my B27 it is 16' 2" center of aft port to tip of the pointy end ;-). It's 9ft from cabin top to the bottom of the keel (she's out of the water for a paint job).

Thanks guys. I wound up having to reschedule the pickup. The trailer prolly would have worked but no antisway bars and just too many safety compromises. Luckily every thing worked out with storage and i should be able to get the original gooseneck to rent. The measurements do help though.
