The Challenger is one lovely boat. I'd love to do a refit on one if there is ever a next "project" for me. I hope you'll post lots of pictures of the project as you go forward.
OK...you've whetted our collective appetite, so let's see some more pictures of that future head-turner! What's your first project going to be? More, more, more! :<)
Congratulations on getting her home.

She was shipped from Palm Harbor FL.(near Tampa) To my home in Fork Union VA. The shipping was on a hydraulic trailer by Triton Yachts out of Oriental NC. Expensive, but the best price I could find ($3060).

Having shipped my own boat from Vermont to Michigan, I can only say... I feel your pain on the cost! Now that she's arrived safe and sound at least you don't have to worry about the transport anymore.
As soon as I get all of the junk out of the boat you all are more than welcome to come by. Anyone ever rebuilt a cockpit?
It is a much worse mess now. (AAARRRGGHH!)

By the way, my 6 year old daughter takes riding lessons from Heather in Scottesville at Equus Springs Farm.
I hope you keep the photos coming, hopefully I'll be able to help you a bit if I had to go down the same tunnel with my Challenger. I think your project looks like it's in good shape. I'll be interested in how you go about the cockpit. It could be done many different ways. Mine is still original if you need any measurements or details.
Thank you Tom,
I may take you up on some of those measurements.
My family and I are heading North this summer for a family reunion (my wife's side) in MA. We thought of Vacationing in and around New England. If we are in your area I would love to see and take a couple of pictures of "Christmas".
Thanks, Jimmy Small

nope-she's patiently waiting for room in the shed at George Leon's up at the Boothbay Industrial Park. She'll have awl grip work done to cabin top, decks, & topsides while Cindy & I finish the bright work.Right now she's next to the building in her last ever shrink wrap:)---sorry I didn't reply sooner-we just got our power and internt back yesterday!
Thanks Jon,
I will let you know for certain if we are heading up your way this summer. I would really love to see the details of how some things are put together. Right now my galley is a jigsaw puzzle. My boat was finished at Poul Molich's yard in Denmark is yours Derecktor? if so I wonder what differences there may be?
Thanks, Jimmy Small

Derecktor did finish her and it's surprising how the two interiors are similar. The plans from Alden spec out the layout but I imagine there are all sorts of nuances the builders incorporated in their own work. I cann't seem to figure out how to post multiple pix without having to go through the process multiple times for each pix. Can you post a folder??? I have some of the galley I'll post when I find them.
